Dawn Cutillo paired her educational background with her passions in establishing BeBalanced Natural Weight Loss Centers. The company provides a “nonmedical, holistic approach to solving stubborn weight gain, premenstrual syndrome and menopause symptoms,” and Cutillo says the process works for women of any age. She laid the foundation for BeBalanced by studying exercise physiology and nutrition while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education from Messiah College in Pennsylvania. And Cutillo minored in business, just in case she wanted to try her hand at entrepreneurship one day.

Her career began in corporate wellness. Later Cutillo managed a weight-loss center in a large fitness facility, which was where she noticed that women were dieting and exercising in a healthy way but still not losing stubborn weight, especially after age 35. They also dealt with mood swings, insomnia, irritability, and hot flashes.

BeBalanced franchise founder, Dawn Cutillo

“I want to bring women freedom from their excess weight and symptoms while also offering a way to find financial freedom by owning their own business via our BeBalanced franchise. It is so fulfilling to me on both levels.”

“I always had issues with my hormones,” Cutillo says, “but I never connected it to weight loss. As I got a little older, I found it hard to lose weight and felt bloated. I wanted to solve this issue… [so] I did more research.”

She ultimately worked with a chemist to develop a process to ease the symptoms. It focuses on naturally balancing hormones, detoxifying the body and easing digestive disorders. After seeing great results with her program, Cutillo wanted to spread the word and wrote her book, The Hormone Shift. “I was offered a deal to do an infomercial and sell online,” she says. “This is when my brother David [Cutillo, who is now director of franchising for BeBalanced] and I talked about the best model being the ability to work with women in a more intimate setting, face-to-face. This lent itself to a brick-and-mortar facility with staff availability leading us to go in the direction of franchising,” which began in 2013.

Cutillo adds, “I’m very passionate about this topic because I suffered the same symptoms, so I want to bring women freedom from their excess weight and symptoms while also offering a way to find financial freedom by owning their own business via our BeBalanced franchise. It is so fulfilling to me on both levels.” To learn more about the business opportunity click here.
